Ruby |
Pigeon’s blood colour ruby from Mogok is world finest gem quality. Red variety of corundum the colour due to chromium is called ruby. Mogok ruby is metamorphic origin. The origin of Mogok ruby can be easily distinguished from others by observing the inclusion. The folding liquid feather inclusion is the prominent feature of Mogok Origin ruby. Cabochon and faceted style is usually applied to rubies.

The name garnet refers to a group of minerals related in composition and crystal structure. Gem garnets occur in a range or red, orange and green colour. Spessartine garnets are yellowish-orange which also known as “mandarin garnet”. Spessartines occur in granite pegmatites. Due to the higher refractive index (RI), spessartine garnet is one of the most brilliant colour gemstones of the world.

Transparent, apple green variety of olivine is termed as peridot. It is come from peridotite rock. The main source of peridot from Myanmar is Pan Lin Pyaung Gaung area, Mogok Township, Mandalay Division. Myanmar peridot gem have more Fe% > Mg% refractive index, specific gravity and deeply green colour than peridots from other countries. Those make Myanmar peridot more beautiful.

Spinels are hard, lustrous gemstones. Most of rough spinels show perfect octahedral crystal and sometimes, twins can be seen.
